Here is our wonderful French blog!
This morning we had a session with ‘Hands on Science’ who taught us a lot about energy and the different types of energy used for things.
We made our own rockets and tested them out to see how far they travelled. It was a lot of fun!
This afternoon we learnt about acids reacting with salt to remove copper oxide (what makes coins dull) and making the coins shiny again. We used vinegar to find out what happens then each team experimented with either orange or lemon juice to observe what happened.
Some coins we rinsed with water and some we didn’t. The ones we didn’t are turning blue! We have left them to see how they look tomorrow. Someone suggested we put them in coke so we have left some in a pot of coke to investigate.
We are also finding out whether you can turn a boiled egg into a bouncy ball by leaving it in vinegar.
All experiments you can try at home, the children can explain how and what you need!
